I was able to open the game. Initially, moving the mouse worked as expected. I went to raise the sensitivity from "3" to "6", but afterward mouse movements didn't cause the camera to rotate. I tried changing the mouse sensitivity back to "3" and restarting the game, but still no luck.
I was still able to click to cause the plasma gun to shoot.

Well, I reopened the client again and set the sensitivity and the mouse movement started working again.
Let me know if it happens again / if you can reproduce it. What OS + etc? Any chance there was some firewall or windows security popup or alike in the background that took focus?

Can't see anything wrong there. Only thing I could imagine is that it got confused due to the touchpad\mouse or something like that. But I and others have used it on laptops before without issues. But yeah.. Let me know if you can reproduce it somehow, maybe by renaming the "Player" folder and starting it again, for example.
