Known issue but haven't know about any relevant exploits for it, but it can be abused at certain maps with ice at start and so on.

Possible "fixes":

  • Cap start speed
  • Limit the accepted "start" area as a radius around the spawn
  • Explicit "start fields" (brushes) in the "vulnerable" maps
  • Warning\etc if start speed is "significantly" higher than the average (would fail if everyone exploited or if the first time(s) used it)

Just some quick thoughts on it, will think some more about it.. :) No rush though, it's very obvious and easy to automatically detect which times that have used this. :)

Another possible solution, make sure the jump originated from a "stand-still" AT spawn height, or something like that..

also, if we're walking, jumping, or sliding on anything off the spawn height, including ramps, at any point.. or if we use ice, unless we also spawn at ice
