This message stays visible for way to long after you've done what it asks of you. Should be cleared once you load/respawn imo, so as to not potentially confuse you during following start(s).

If that was the case it'd also be nice if the message was moved to a more visible spot on the screen (or made more visible somehow, at least).

It's just part of that event log thing which treats all the messages the same way, if it was cleared at load it could be confusing as well. Like for me at least, how it is now, you'd generally notice 'oh timer isn't running' or 'checkpoint didnt show the difference' and I instinctively load instantly. If I then didn't have any message at lower left, it could be a bit uncertain why the timer wasn't running. (did I hit a run abort or something, did I just miss the start or was something else wrong, ..)

Could rather add a setting to give a more 'clear' warning if you don't hit a start timer on your first jump or something like that.

Yea.. Currently all indicators for a successful hit of start timer are hard to see (start speed, timer starting and load/respawn msg). On maps such as strafeline, where a very precise start is required to rec, you'll fail start pretty often. Maybe something as simple as giving the timer a different color when it's active would suffice though..

I was thinking more like this:

Coming up centered on the screen, compared with a sound like this one:
