There are multiple strafe styles in RIK. Typically in defrag, warsow, and alike, you can only use "aircontrol-physics" in combination with "Fullbeat". But RIK allows you to combine aircontrol with any strafe style. Note that this is pretty much only relevant for the more experienced players.
You can change your strafestyle using Q and 1-5, if you do "exec advanced" in console, or see "Data/advanced.cfg".
First off, each strafestyle has three main aspects to them:
- Strafe: Typically by using WA and WD. The method you use to gain speed.
- Aircontrol: Typically A and D. The precise sort of aircontrol you use to take sharper or more controlled turns.
- "W aircontrol": Typically holding only W. Mostly used for smaller adjustments to your direction. Not suitable for sharp turns.
The strafe styles
- Fullbeat (FB)
- WA and WD is used for strafe. (or SA + SD)
- A and D is used for normal aircontrol.
- W is used for "W aircontrol". (or S)
- Halfbeat (on the left side, HBL)
- WA and D is used for strafe. (or SA + D)
- A and WD is used for normal aircontrol. (or A + SD)

- No aircontrol (NAC)
- All aircontrol is off. Any strafe style is available without switching settings, but as the name suggest, you'll have absolutely no aircontrol aside from what you can manage with the strafe itself.
